Therapeutic approach
As we have all navigated the complexities of our unique environments as children and adults, we have found our best and most creative ways of surviving and thriving. This has required many of us to accept and accentuate certain aspects of ourselves, and to hide or shut off others. It is the hidden and silenced parts of us that often lead to a sense of being stuck, or they begin to create loud internal noise or wreak havoc in our lives in order to be heard.
As infants, our brains are literally 'wired' by the interactions we have with our caregivers. The hope therapy offers is that what was formed in relationship can also be healed in relationship. When we feel safe, we can begin to be curious about ourselves in ways we may not have the chance to be in other places in our lives. We can begin to invite all aspects of ourselves into relationship, freeing us to create the lives we're longing for.
